Following up the popular release of Kato's GE C44-9W in BNSF "Swoosh" and "Warbonnet" colors, Kato announces a new road number for the Warbonnet scheme and a brand new paint scheme release, the "Heritage II". This production will be a great accompaniment for those also purchasing the ES44AC BNSF locomotives that will be released around the same time. The models will feature illuminated, directional ditch lights, headlights, and number boards, powerful five-pole motor and all-wheel electrical pickup from blackened metal wheels, and DCC friendly and ready for drop-in decoders such as the Digitrax DN163K1B or TCS K1D4-NC.

By popular demand! Kato is re-releasing the out-of-production N Scale EMD F40PH locomotive in Phase III paint along with an Amtrak Phase III version of our new step down coach and baggage car in a special two-pack. These step down coaches were a staple of Amtrak passenger service; practically every Superliner train that ran prior to the advent of the Superliner II car in 1990 would have had one of these step down coaches as part of their consist.

Kato announces a re-release of their popular C44-9W in "Swoosh" and "Warbonnet" schemes. Kato's first production of these locomotives sold out in near record time, so they are producing a limited run with additional quantities of all four road numbers from the original release, shipping this August. Don't miss out on these fantastic locomotives a second time; this will be a limited production run, so you will want to get your reservations in as soon as possible! These feature illuminated, directional ditch lights, headlights, and number boards, powerful five-pole motor and all-wheel electrical pickup from blackened metal wheels, and are DCC friendly and ready for drop-in decoders such as the Digitrax DN163K1B or TCS K1D4.

Kato announces an exclusive N-scale Boston & Maine RDC-1 with DCC and sound. The Boston & Maine was the largest single purchaser of Budd Rail Diesel Cars, putting them into service on nearly all of their passenger lines to replace aging wooden cars and steam locomotives in the late 50's. By 1959, all passenger service, with the exception of some through service, on the Boston and Maine lines was handled by their fleet of RDCs. The B&M's fleet of RDC's (more than 70 in total) wore the B&M's distinctive "Minuteman" logo between the years of 1955 and 1957. After 1957, the RDC's were updated with a more modern squared-off blue-and-white B&M logo that was called the "McGinnis" scheme (after Patrick McGinnis, the new president of the Boston & Maine, the man responsible for B&M's RDC armada).

Please note that these are not pre-built and are hand-built and customized with DCC, sound, and controllable interior lighting. They may require upwards of 2 to 3 months to complete.
